Are you an experienced IT professional, with a background managing a portfolio of IT projects with high public visibility? Consider an opportunity with the Transportation I&IT Cluster, as a Manager, Application and Business Solutions. This role will provide expert strategic advice related to major I&IT issues, administrative and technical direction to systems staff.

What can I expect to do in this role?

You will: lead the analysis of Ministry business systems and define client requirements; lead and manage multiple, long range systems for development and maintenance projects; direct project planning, develop Request For Proposals (RFPs) and develop performance measures; provide regular updates to program management and clients; coordinate projects within the division, ministry and across ministries and/or with industry; direct the development, review and approval of systems design for projects involving the application and implementation of new and innovative technologies and methods; coordinate market research to identify and evaluate innovative technology trends, productivity tools and methods; develop partnerships with clients, other ministries and jurisdictions and inter-disciplinary colleagues.

How do I qualify?

Mandatory

demonstrated knowledge of business systems analysis, design, testing and implementation in multi-platform environments with large software distribution to direct the development, evaluation and approval of systems and programs; demonstrated knowledge of project management principles, techniques and processes in a systems environment to lead and co-ordinate concurrent, multiple, large scale projects; knowledge of problem-solving and analysis approaches and techniques to analyze and evaluate key business, financial and technical impacts and to direct staff in design, analysis and problem resolution; proven communication, interpersonal and consulting skills to establish effective relationships, provide systems advice to senior systems management and to consult with colleagues on system integration; demonstrated planning, organizational and negotiating skills to co-ordinate project completion; proven management and leadership skills to manage staff, financial and other resources within budget allotments; demonstrated knowledge of client operations and requirements related to I&IT solutions and awareness of current technology.
