Lead a team of dedicated professionals promoting Ontario`s interests in global markets. The government of Ontario, Canada, has established a network of ten International Marketing Centres (IMCs) in major markets around the world. Under the direction of Ontarios Ministry of Economic Development and Trade, the IMCs are a key element of the provinces international representation. Co-located in Canadian embassies and consulates, the IMCs work to attract foreign direct investment, promote the export of goods and services, and raise awareness of Ontario as an international business jurisdiction.

The coordinating management and administration of the IMCs are provided by a small team in Toronto. We are seeking the right person to head up that team to manage Ontario`s international offices; deliver program consistency and quality across the IMC network; and ensure the financial integrity of the IMC program area, including compliance with provincial polices and practices as well as coordination with directives of the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade Canada, Ontarios co-location partner.



Qualifications:sound knowledge of international economic opportunities and challenges facing Ontario in key world markets; extensive knowledge of Ontario`s (trade, investment) objectives and broad interests in those markets where Ontario International Marketing Centres( IMCs) are located; knowledge of policy development, decision-making and program delivery processes; sound knowledge of federal policies and objectives with respect to, inter alia, international representation, co-location and national trade and investment priorities; high degree of political acuity to understand both domestic and global economic and political issues and to identify and interpret developments/issues of significance to the Ministry/Ontario; analytical and problem-solving skills to synthesize complex and sensitive material, and handle a wide range of issues and situations;ability to provide high-level consultation, advice and recommendation; demonstrated oral and written communication skills; interpersonal skills to work with staff across the Ministry, other Ministries, Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade Canada, and other provincial governments;
demonstrated leadership, project management and issues management skills.
