What can I expect to do in this role?

The Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional Services requires the services of a Psychologist to provide clinical services to an Ontario Correctional Institute. Reporting to the Chief Psychologist and as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will provide psychological assessment and treatment services to offenders, conduct individual and/or group treatment, provide consultation/recommendations to both management and line staff concerning offenders, and evaluate institutional program effectiveness. You will provide assessment, treatment services and conduct/evaluate programs at the institution.

How do I qualify?

Mandatory

current registration as a psychologist in Ontario; demonstrated knowledge of and experience in psychological assessment, including psychometric tools, psychological treatment methods, evaluation and treatment services; experience in directly related areas such as psychological assessment and treatment pertaining to a male population; excellent communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills required in a multidisciplinary setting; knowledge of computerized mainframe data system and word processing software packages to input/retrieve offender data, prepare reports, evaluate psychological tests and maintain case documentation and statistics.
