The Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional Services seeks a dynamic and motivated individual to assume the role of RN Supervisor for the Central North Correctional Centre. You will: supervise the provision of health care services for the institution on an assigned shift by ensuring the efficient and effective operation of the institution`s health care services centre; ensure a safe environment for both inmates and staff through the effective delivery of medical and nursing programs and services; assist in the development and implementation of health care policies, practices and procedures; provide professional direction to subordinate staff; and act as the Manager, Health Care Services as required.
Qualifications:Good standing and current registration with the Ontario College of Nurses; advanced knowledge of nursing administration/healthcare programs and operations; knowledge of various acts, regulations, directives, standards and guidelines to supervise and provide health care in a correctional environment; administrative and supervisory skills; knowledge of computer and related software, as well as specialized software programs for health care services; superior interpersonal and oral communication skills; general knowledge of industrial production operations and specialized medical treatment to provide direction and care during medical emergencies.
