The Ministry of the Environment is responsible for protecting clean and safe air, land and water to ensure healthy communities, ecological protection and sustainable development for present and future generations of Ontarians. The Air Policy and Climate Change Branch plays a critical role in helping the Ministry achieve these goals by developing air quality and climate change policies that protect Ontario`s air.

Your expertise in air quality and climate change issues and your knowledge of policy development is required as you will: lead, participate on and provide support to policy and program development project teams; provide analysis, options and recommendations on the need for new and revised policies; conduct research analytical projects in support of air quality and climate change initiatives; establish and develop relationships with key air quality and climate change policy stakeholders; create performance measures and indicators to measure the success of air quality and climate change policies and programs.

Qualifications:Demonstrated knowledge of air quality and climate change issues, related environmental regulations, new policy directions, and knowledge of provincial legislative processes; proven policy analysis and policy development skills; demonstrated stakeholder consultation and negotiation skills; proven project management, research and analysis skills; proven oral and written communication skills; ability to use word processing, database management, presentation graphics and other relevant software.
