Consider this dynamic and challenging opportunity with the Ministry of Finance, Pension and Income Security Policy Branch, Income Security Policy Section, to provide policy analysis and advice on federal and provincial income security issues, including the Ontario Child Benefit, the National Child Benefit program and Canada Child Tax Benefit, and other tax/transfer programs for low-income persons, such as the social assistance system. You will: conduct policy research; analyze data; develop strategic policy options; prepare reports; participate in the budget process; assess proposals by other jurisdictions and ministries.

Qualifications:strong policy analysis and quantitative skills; research and analytical skills; knowledge of spreadsheet applications; familiarity with federal and provincial income-security programs and policies for low income families with children; ability to prepare high-quality reports and briefings; well developed oral and written communication and interpersonal skills to provide advice and support to the Minister of Finance and senior management; advanced knowledge of and skills in economics, public policy and administration, political science or related discipline to identify and understand the key facts of an issue relevant to decision-making and the linkage between income security policy issues.
