An opportunity exists with the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care Emergency Health Services Branch for an experienced and motivated individual to provide Communications Officer training.

You will: deliver, evaluate and develop training programs for Communications Officers with ambulance communication services; evaluate/document student performance; participate in development, implementation and maintenance of quality assurance/improvement programs. Frequent travel to other locations within Ontario, for extended periods, is required.

Qualifications:Knowledge of adult education principles, practices, techniques and presentation skills to develop and deliver programs to adults; knowledge of quality assurance (QA) and continuous quality improvement (CQI)principles to develop and administer QA programs, as well as monitor Communications Officers` performance; knowledge of current communication, dispatching and automation theories, practices and equipment used in Ontario`s emergency health system to develop and deliver educational programs for emergency medical dispatching; strong communication skills: written – to prepare educational material, reports, recommendations, document student performance and draft external correspondence; oral – to present training programs and participate on committees; planning, analytical and problem solving skills to identify training needs and to design, cost, schedule and implement training programs; leadership skills to lead training sessions and encourage participation; understanding of current legislation, regulations, policies and practices pertaining to ambulance service delivery; ability to use word processing, spreadsheet and presentation software to support administration of a regional training program, prepare reports and educational materials; valid driver`s licence for frequent travel to other locations within Ontario.
