If you are a skilled and creative sign designer looking for a new challenge, then the Ministry of Transportation has the position you`ve been looking for!

In this exciting opportunity, you will provide technical and creative expertise in the design and production of innovative highway signing systems on a Province-wide basis, which will include creating and developing, from preliminary sketch through to final design and preparation, Provincial Standard drawings and patterns and all highway sign standards for use in Ontario; providing technical advice and coordination in the materials and production aspects of highway sign manufacture; and functioning as a Ministry technical specialist in sign design and manufacturing procedures.

Qualifications:demonstrated knowledge of graphic design, drafting techniques, work procedures, pertinent classification of signs and principles of sign design (i.e. information, warning, guidance); excellent knowledge of and demonstrated skill in the use of microcomputers and related graphic design, and word processing software; problem solving and analytical skills to interpret/follow detailed instructions with the ability to be creative and innovative in developing design alternatives; project management skills to design, implement, lead and manage a number of concurrent projects with varying degrees of complexity, individually and within a team environment; communication and presentation skills to provide advice/consultation and present materials to peers and senior management.
