The Ministry of the Environment, Drinking Water Programs Branch, seeks a team player to plan, develop, and deliver outreach strategies and materials for drinking water initiatives.

Working with internal and external stakeholders, you will: develop, write and implement a variety of communications material (e.g., reports, guides, fact sheets, newsletters) for ministry staff, clients and stakeholders to support the Division`s stakeholder relations strategies, and ensure the accurate incorporation and adherence to technical, scientific and legal information; coordinate stakeholder relations business processes for speaking engagements, outreach initiatives and/or stakeholder meetings; prepare Cabinet submissions, briefing material, legislated annual reports and presentations; develop stakeholder consultation and mapping tools; participates on project teams and technical working groups/committees.

Qualifications:Extensive knowledge of the theories, principles and practices of consultation and communication strategies; proven ability to develop, write and implement plain language documents incorporating complex scientific, technical and legislative information; demonstrated knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, policies, programs, terminologies and environmental science, particularly as they relate to drinking water and wastewater, research tools and public sector reporting requirements; good understanding of key ministry clients and stakeholders; excellent communication, consultative, interpersonal and facilitation skills to participate in technical working groups and communicate with stakeholders; strong analytical research, evaluative, strategic thinking and problem solving skills to research complex scientific, technical and legal information, identify contentious issues and opportunities; excellent organization, coordination and project management skills to develop stakeholder relations business processes; proficiency with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Internet and Intranet to assist with design of educational material.
