Bring your expertise in information management and analysis to the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care, Health System Information Management Division, where you will have an opportunity to contribute to the development and implementation of health data standards and quality framework.

In this role, you will: conduct needs analyses to identify impacts on existing data standards, structures and services providers to meet the change in national and/or provincial standards and reporting requirements; identify education and training issues and requirements, provide input into the development of training material, and assist in the planning and development of education sessions; conduct research and analysis in support of various projects and business planning initiatives; monitor data report quality through the review of financial, statistical, clinical and other relevant healthcare data information.

Qualifications:Extensive knowledge of Ontario`s strategic directions and priorities for hospitals, mental health and long-term care, acute and community health care delivery systems, relevant legislation, health system operations, issues and standards; demonstrated working knowledge of reporting standards and requirements specifically related to the long-term care sector (i.e., OHRS, RAI-MDS and RUGs grouper); extensive knowledge of information management systems, data reporting, case mix and case weight methodologies related to all healthcare sectors; sound knowledge of statistical research methodology and risk assessment techniques; strong conceptual, analytical, evaluation and problem solving skills to conduct impact assessments, develop options and provide sound recommendations; strong planning and organizational skills to carryout a variety of projects; excellent oral and written communication skills; strong relationship management skills to foster co-operative business relationships with internal and external stakeholders; good understanding of reporting and querying software (SQL), business intelligence tools (Cognos, SAS), and proficiency with database applications, MS Word, Excel and Access.
