Do you have a high degree of initiative and are looking to apply your biological expertise in a new environment? If so, then consider this opportunity with the Northeast Science and Information Section where your services are needed to provide professional and project management support to the aquatic science program as it undertakes new work in Ontario`s Far North. Employ your strong analytical skills in tasks related to literature review and synthesis, data collection, analysis and reporting on multiple ongoing science projects such as fish population assessments, riverine habitat characterizations and instream flow assessments.

Qualifications:knowledge of applied biological, ecological and fisheries management methods, techniques and procedures, including technical field data collection and aquatics-related survey skills; research and analytical skills to conduct literature searches, reviews and data analysis as well as apply standard methods, procedures and techniques and tools for statistical design, field sampling, analysis and modelling; planning and organizational skills to plan, develop and implement programs of a complex nature and produce deliverables within a fixed timeline with minimum supervision; computer proficiency with experience in database management, spreadsheet, word processing and graphics software to develop and maintain databases, produce analyses of data and prepare reports on findings; communication skills to effectively train and supervise others, liaise with stakeholders in coordinating activities, as well as produce written documents and reports suitable for publication targeted to professional and technical audiences; knowledge of resource management, land use management and resource allocation principles and practices, environmental assessment terms and conditions and related provincial and federal legislation; valid driver`s licence to conduct fieldwork in remote locations not accessible by other modes of transportation.
