Join the Ministry of Children and Youth Services, TRE-ADD (Treatment, Research and Education for Autism and Developmental Disorders) Residential Program in making a difference in the life of individuals with Autism.

You will: design and implement programs which promote independence in life skills, social, leisure and vocational skills; provide direct care and therapeutic treatment in a residential or community environment; set and review goals and record progress data for individuals with behavioural disorders; organize family visits, provide feedback to parents and teach child management techniques; plan, develop and participate in programming activities for clients; advocate for individual`s rights and needs.

Qualifications:theoretical and practical knowledge of child and youth work acquired through relevant education or experience; knowledge of evidence-based child management and normal and abnormal development and treatment approaches in children with autism and various developmental, physical, behavioural and mental health disorders; knowledge of specialized therapeutic treatment programs, behaviour management and other child management and crisis intervention techniques/strategies; analytical and reasoning skills to identify disorders and reach consensus on treatment; excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills; knowledge of relevant legislation such as Child and Family Services Act and related policies and guidelines. Successful candidates will be required to obtain First Aid and CPR certificates.

Flexibility to work five various eight-hour shifts per month and travel within the service area are required.
