Be a key team member in the Ministry of Transportation, Planning and Design Section as a Senior Designer, applying your skills and knowledge to the planning and design of transportation projects.

You will provide technical advice and assistance to Project Managers/Engineers in consultant acquisition and management; and provide technical advice, guidance and assistance to engineering consultants assigned to transportation projects. Participate in project teams by preparing designs, technical reports, contract plans and documents required for the delivery of Ontario`s multi-year highway construction program.

Qualifications:Demonstrated experience and knowledge of highway engineering design practices, computer systems applications related to planning and design practices and engineering drafting; problem solving and decision analysis skills: to develop and evaluate effective planning and design alternatives for self, assigned staff and consultants; communication skills, both oral and written, to communicate with staff of other ministry offices and sections, consultants, external agencies including municipal technical personnel and elected officials, senior ministry staff, peers and the public at community information centres; organizational skills to organize and monitor work assignments for self and others, and to assist project management staff in consultant acquisition and administration; and demonstrated ability to function effectively to achieve results in tight timeframes, both as a team member and team leader.
