The Ministry of Children and Youth Services, Research and Outcome Measurement Branch has an (temporary up to one year) opportunity for a motivated policy professional to support the development of labour market data, analysis and strategy in the Labour Market Unit.

Strong research, analytical, policy development and project management skills are needed to: analyze labour market issues affecting the children and youth services sector; participate in the development, implementation, evaluation of corporate and operational policies; assess policy and program implications, effectiveness and impact; engage in stakeholder consultations; prepare range of documents.

Qualifications:considerable knowledge of labour market trends related to child/youth service programs, policies and related legislation; knowledge of government directions, priorities and legislation related to child/youth programs; knowledge of policy development tools/techniques, research methodology and program evaluation techniques; strong oral/written communication, relationship building, interpersonal and facilitation skills; sound judgment, initiative, conceptual thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills to develop and assess impact of policies and programs; demonstrated project management and teamwork skills to participate in project teams; ability to manage deadlines and competing priorities; computer skills to conduct research and prepare a variety of documents (e.g. MS Office applications).
