Do you want to make a meaningful contribution to the highways of Ontario?

If so, the Ministry of Transportation has a challenging opportunity for a safety conscious professional to join their team. You will plan, coordinate, direct and administer the work of the technical services section within the Sudbury area through the minor capital program in accordance with ministry policies, procedures, directives and processes. You will also provide contract management and technical support and expertise to contractors and consultants to ensure effective delivery of programs.

Qualifications:thorough knowledge of the standards and specifications of highway engineering, survey, layout, and quality assurance principles and practices; sound knowledge and demonstrated experience in highway construction and maintenance practices and with the equipment required to complete the work; experience in contract administration and knowledge of tendering procedures and practices; demonstrated mathematical skills in order to complete accurate quantity calculations and estimates, and the ability to read and interpret plans and drawings; knowledge of construction safety policies and practices; demonstrated planning and organizational skills, decision-making skills, and the ability to supervise field personnel, contractors and consultants; well developed interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to communicate effectively; demonstrated ability to operate a computer and experience using various software programs; valid driver`s licence and ability to travel to conduct field survey work.
