The French-Language Education Policy and Programs Branch is seeking a skilled manager to lead the French Language Continued Learning Unit which will focus on postsecondary education. This unit, in the Ministries of Education and Training Colleges and Universities, will work to improve opportunities and outcomes for French-language learners. You will oversee: the development of a new funding formula for French-language funding; postsecondary policy/program development; the governance of French-language colleges; the establishment of accountability measures for bilingual universities and French-language colleges as they relate to their programs for French as a Minority Language and French as a Second Language; the administration of targeted funding; and the administration of initiatives to improve the transition from secondary to post-secondary studies. Building on the success of government initiatives related to Aménagement linguistique, Learning to 18, Access to Opportunities and Employment Ontario, you will work closely with colleagues in the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities and stakeholders to foster better integration of strategies and services that meet the needs of Franco-Ontarians.

Qualifications:Excellent knowledge of Ontario postsecondary French-language and bilingual education, key government directions and Ministry business functions and processes. Proven leadership skills and expertise in policy analysis, implementation and evaluation, strategic planning, project management, risk assessment, accountability monitoring, and issues management; in-depth knowledge of French-Language stakeholders and the capacity to anticipate and prepare responses for the resolution of contentious issues; proficiency in French and English.
