Are you a visionary leader with a passion for public policy making that will set the strategic direction for the development and design of policy initiatives that have a direct impact on children, youth and families? Then join the Strategic Planning and Analysis Branch as the director where you will: provide leadership in the development of a multi-year strategic plans; support executive leadership in setting strategic direction on the development and implementation of the ministry`s strategic framework and strategic plan; manage the Federal / Provincial / Territorial (FPT) functions, and Cabinet coordination for the Ministry; provide leadership and guidance on current and anticipated policy issues, identify opportunities that will influence policy within the ministry from a long-term perspective and champion integration across all program areas within government; and build and maintain good stakeholder relations with ministry decision makers and relevant stakeholders. You will: model commitment to diversity in all aspects of work and interactions with staff and partners; and lead a team of professional staff in the provision of strategic policy planning, analysis and advice.

Qualifications:demonstrated leadership competencies to transform, deliver and inspire a team responsible for developing strategies and policies affecting children and youth; extensive senior level management experience coupled with knowledge of current and emerging issues affecting children and youth; strong knowledge and skills in areas of strategic thinking with an ability to interpret and advise on policy issues, as well as strategic policy development; proven ability to effectively connect and foster collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders; superior change leadership, management, communications and negotiations skills; superb political acuity and excellent understanding of government decision-making processes.
