Are you an engineer interested in taking on the challenge of being an environmental regulator in the area of air emissions and air pollution control?Then we have just the opportunity for you!What can I expect to do in this role?As a Senior Air Engineer, you will:• conduct engineering assessments of applications to ensure proposals comply with government environmental requirements• review and evaluate engineering designs and specifications• review reports of air emissions and air pollution control technologies• provide engineering expertise, technical support and guidance• participate in meetings with various stakeholdersHow do I qualify?Mandatory• Licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with full membership in Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO)Air Engineer Knowledge and Skills:• you have advanced knowledge and experience relating to the theories and practices of air pollution control, air emissions management and atmospheric dispersion modelling, as well as chemical, mechanical and environmental engineering• you have a thorough knowledge of environmental legislation (Environmental Protection Act, Environmental Assessment Act, Environmental Bill of Rights), regulations, standards, and policies• you have a through knowledge of a wide variety of industrial processes and related air emission sourcesProblem-Solving, Project Management and Negotiation Skills:• you can organize your work, plan your time and manage multiple projects• you can negotiate with key stakeholders and mediate disputes • you can solve problems and manage contentious issues• you analyze information thoroughly and can prepare clear, concise reports• you have project management experienceCommunications and Computer Skills:• you communicate clearly and concisely• you work well with others• you know how to use computer software, including word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, Internet and database applications
