If so, consider this challenging and rewarding career with the Aviation, Forest Fire and Emergency Services (AFFES) Branch.What can I expect to do in this role?You will:• provide quality assurance functions to the Ministry's rotary fleet of aircraft• assist in ensuring that aircraft are maintained safely and to regulatory requirements• conduct audits to ensure adherence to all Ministry policies and Transport Canada regulationsHow do I qualify?Mandatory requirements:• possess a valid Transport Canada aircraft maintenance engineer license M1 & M2• ability to obtain an airport security clearance as per Transport Canada requirements• possess a valid driver's licence to conduct field audits• possess a valid radio restricted operator's certificate - aeronauticalTechnical knowledge and skills:• ability to ensure that rotary wing aircraft are maintained in airworthy condition in accordance to standards • demonstrated ability to provide maintenance related expertise to safety program• sound knowledge to conduct audits relating to the inspection, repair, overhaul and modification of all aircraft and components• ability to ensure Airworthiness directives and other inspections are accomplished within time frames• ability to conduct field audits to assist and direct maintenance personnel in compliance with Transport Canada and ministry regulations• ability to approve all aircraft certification privilege for maintenance personnel• thorough knowledge of Transport Canada Air Regulations, Air Navigation Orders, Transport Canada Airworthiness Manual and other related acts and manuals• knowledge of and ability to work within relevant legislation/policiesGeneral skills:• excellent oral and written communication skills to effectively liaise with ministry staff and external agencies• judgment skills to ensure aircraft are maintained safely and within budget • ability to plan, organize and coordinate financial and material resources• knowledge of computers and systems to make recommendations and provide approvals to attain system efficiency
