Bring your strong understanding of medical terminology to our team at the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care.

One permanent position is currently available. This competition will also be used to create an eligibility list for upcoming permanent and temporary opportunities within the next twelve months.

What can I expect to do in this role?

You will:

- use your research skills to assess claims and analyze payment irregularities
- respond to inquiries
- initiate payments, adjustments or recoveries
- prepare legal and executive summaries
- provide service to medical providers and the public
- deal with confidential and sensitive medical and personal information

How do I qualify?

Knowledge
- knowledge of medical terminology and human anatomy
- proven ability to understand, interpret and apply policies, and work within guidelines, procedures and legislation such as Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act

Skills
- proven research and analytical skills
- communication and interpersonal skills
- proven ability to apply discretion, judgment, tact and diplomacy
- mathematical skills to calculate fees and adjust payments
- well developed organizational skills to manage own work
- ability to work cooperatively with a team to meet strict deadlines
- ability to assist in training new and existing employees
- good keyboarding skills and demonstrated experience using computers and software (e.g. word processing, email, internet/intranet and databases)
