The Ministry of Education, Community Services I&IT Cluster is seeking a highly motivated individual to provide effective leadership and expert IT systems management services for the Case and Grant Management Solutions Branch. Consider this exciting opportunity and contribute your expertise to the Cluster's efforts in being the OPS leader in I&IT service, innovation and excellence.
What can I expect to do in this role?
In this role, you will: • manage major business systems and solution delivery to meet client requirements • manage the overall project delivery, direct and guide team members including I&IT staff, client staff and consultants on projects and operational issues • plan, implement and sustain end to end I&IT solutions • develop and negotiate the project budget and acquire project resources • manage effective relations with the business clients and other internal/external stakeholders • direct the development and implementation functions such as analysis, design, development, testing and deployment of business systems • manage the section staff • direct the development of strategies and manage plans to keep the Cluster I&IT assets (eg. application architectures, codes, infrastructure, software versions etc.) current and sustainable
How do I qualify?
Leadership, Managerial and Project Planning Skills You have: • leadership skills to lead, coach and motivate staff • management skills to manage staff and resources effectively and within the budget allocated • project management and planning skills to plan, estimate, budget, schedule, monitor and control complex large-scale projects • the ability to define effective project scope, approach and develop customer agreements
IT Technical Knowledge You have: • knowledge of overall systems analysis, design, development, testing and implementation methods and a broad working knowledge of current industry trends and technologies (data, applications, networking and security) in order to direct staff in the design and development of business systems • the ability to acquire knowledge of and apply I&IT strategies, solutions, plans, standards and directives to ensure project compliance
Communication, Interpersonal and Negotiation Skills You have: • communication and interpersonal skills to establish effective working relationships with I&IT management, clients, project stakeholders and project staff • negotiation skills to develop and manage customer service agreements with vendors and clients
Judgement and Problem Solving Skills You have: • judgement to identify appropriate business system solutions to meet client needs • problem solving skills to provide technical and general business expertise to staff in the resolution of I&IT analysis and design problems
