A forest fire in 1910 cracked open pine cones and scattered heat-resistant seeds, resulting in trees all the same height around Dogtooth Lake. Canoe routes are easily accessible from the park.What can I expect to do in this role?In this role you will provide: • clerical support services, perform revenue receiving functions and provide group leadership and training to gate staff. • coordinate the acquisition of Ontario Parks and other merchandise• provide effective customer service to internal and external clients and park visitorsHow do I qualify?Mandatory requirements:• You must possess a valid driver's licence to travel regularly to Kenora and daily within the park.• You must also possess or be able to obtain a valid Emergency First Aid certificate.• You must have the ability to work shifts, weekends, and statutory holidays as per schedule.Knowledge:• You possess knowledge of clerical processes and general office and accounting practices and procedures.• You have knowledge of worker's responsibilities as outlined in the Occupational Health and Safety Act that apply to the workplace and the work being performed.• You are knowledgeable of personal computers, including word-processing, spreadsheet, internet and e-mail applications as well as ability to utilize fax machines, photocopier, two way radios and voice mail technology.Leadership skills:• You possess demonstrated leadership and guidance skills to provide direction to gate and seasonal staff and to schedule staff.• You possess strong organizational skills to set priorities and meet deadlines.Interpersonal and communication skills:• You possess excellent customer service skills to effectively deal with customers and staff.• You have well-honed communication skills to prepare a variety of reports, correspondence, and presentations.Other essential skills:• You have the ability to work well under pressure with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.• You can maintain high levels of accuracy and use good judgment.
