Detailed Position Breakdown:Northwest Provincial Park Zone1 position at Blue Lake Provincial Park, 1722 Highway 647, Vermilion Bay - Limited staff accommodations availableWhat can I expect to do in this role?Work Description:• Position is located within the provincial park• Assist with interpretive or educational programs, special events, and guided hikes to educate park visitors in learning about the park's resources and park environment• Assist with marketing, promotion, retail sales and merchandising of Ontario Parks Merchandise (e.g. promote interpretive or educational programs)• Assist with general clerical duties (e.g. handling cash, operating cash register system, reconciling, calculating and verifying accounting information)• Provide effective customer service (e.g. responding and assisting with public “in person” and “phone” inquiriesHow do I qualify?MandatorySome positions require students to be 15-24 years of age (or 15-29 years of age if you are a person with a disability) due to program funding.Some positions may require the successful candidate(s) to undergo a personal security screening check as a condition of employment.Qualification RequirementsCommunication and Interpersonal skills• You apply your oral communication and customer service skills to respond to phone, email, and in-person inquiries and provide information to internal clients and/or public• You apply your interpersonal skills to work collaboratively within a team environment and participate in meetingsTechnical Skills and Knowledge• You apply your experience using Microsoft Office product suite, such as word processing (Word), spreadsheets (Excel), databases; email and internet to conduct research and prepare a variety of documentsAnalytical and Organizational Skills • You apply your planning and organizational skills to collect, organize, review and verify information/data through review of files, reports, and other means• You work independently or as part of a team; you plan, organize and prioritize your time to meet competing deadlines
