Why not take the next step and become part of our skilled and dynamic team?What can I expect to do in this role?Applying your technical expertise, negotiation skills and your knowledge of contract practices, you will:• monitor contractors' delivery of construction and maintenance operations while ensuring necessary work records are maintained• ensure compliance with contract requirements, review of extra work, contract drawings and documents and claims• liaise with contractors, property owners, internal staff, and the general public to address issues and complaints• provide technical advice and training to staffHow do I qualify?Mandatory requirement:• valid driver's licence to travel throughout the regionTechnical expertise:• proven experience and knowledge of constructions and/or maintenance practices including inspection, material sampling, testing, and road patrolling duties• knowledge of highway, construction standards and specifications and maintenance• ability to interpret contract drawings and documents• ability to interpret and apply knowledge of related policies, acts, regulations and procedures for safety, and environmental protectionPeople skills:• well-developed communication and interpersonal skills to deal with contractors, internal staff and the general publicOther important skills:• good mathematical skills to conduct payment calculations and assessments• proven analytical, negotiation, and problem solving skills to assist with the assessment of contract related issues• well-developed organizational and planning skills• good working knowledge of computers to perform clerical and administrative work such as correspondence, instruction notices, payment calculations, payment reports, contract payment assessment, and applicable reports and forms
