The Ministry of Natural Resources Far North Branch is seeking an enthusiastic, team-oriented, highly motivated individual to provide advice and information in the land use planning process for the far north.What can I expect to do in this role?Duties include assisting the Far North Regional Planner on community-based plans in partnership with aboriginal communities, provide advice on planning teams in the areas of land use and resource management plans and deliver training, consult with stakeholders including First Nations, agencies and individuals and make recommendations to the planning team.How do I qualify?Mandatory• proof of eligibility to work in Canada; • proof of full-time enrolment in a recognized post secondary college or graduation within the last five years;• Candidates are only eligible to participate in a maximum of two placements.Knowledge and Skills• Knowledge of public and municipal land use planning, resource management planning and environmental assessment principles, processes and practices; • good oral and written communication skills to liaise with stakeholders and prepare reports, presentations, plans and letters; • good judgment and interpersonal skills; good organizational and time management skills to meet deadlines;• ability to work independently and in a team setting, ability to use standard office application software.Note: The successful candidate will begin at the base-level pay rate and will move up in the pay scale in accordance with the OPSEU collective agreement.
