What can I expect to do in this role?

The Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional Services, Ontario Provincial Police, Leadership and Design Unit, is seeking a qualified member to implement custom multi-media learning content/solutions for the OPP E-learning program and to support the maintenance, testing and administration of the OPP Learning Management System.

How do I qualify?

Mandatory
Ability to pass an OPP background security investigation.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Programming and standards of HTML, ASP, JavaScript, VBScript, Microsoft Net, XML Flash Action Script, MS Excel, MS Access, MS/Transact SQL and Cascading Style Sheets (CSS).
Graphics/multi-media design/development in Adobe: Photoshop, Acrobat, Premier Pro, After Effects, Captivate, Dreamweaver; Flash, Articulate and MS PowerPoint.
Industry standards, SCORM/AICC for e-learning courseware and learning systems.
Government of Ontario Internet Style Guide and the WWW Consortium (W3C) Web Accessibility Guidelines to ensure that website development and content complies with organizational requirements and accepted international standards. The internet-related section of the Ontarians with Disabilities Act to ensure website compliance.
A variety of information management technologies and associated hardware and software including various audio and visual equipment, e.g., DVD players, digital projectors, video conferencing technology, computer speakers for meetings and presentations.
Maintenance operations and techniques, troubleshooting techniques and methodologies, and testing diagnostic software and recovery procedures to investigate and resolve system performance problems; recommend improvements, enhancements or opportunities for integration with other technologies.
Develop and maintain relationships with technical experts, instructional designers and other clients and to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Job requires oral and written communication skills to provide instruction and training on use of application to end-users of varying competencies and to develop training resources, technical support documents and operating guidelines.
Answer customer service requests from all levels of the organization via telephone, email and in person, to gather information to ascertain their needs and problems, review problems, provide a full range of system capabilities, explain actions, and recommend and/or initiate corrective actions.
