Bring your expertise in emergency management and your strong research and analytical skills to this exciting position, where you will support the development of policies, programs and plans to support the Ministry and the health sector in the areas of risk mitigation/prevention and emergency preparedness, response and recovery.

What can I expect to do in this role?

In this role, you will:

• Provide policy research, analysis and support for the development, implementation and improvement of emergency management priorities, policies programs and plans.
• Support the maintenance of and improvements to programs such as the Ministry's Emergency Operations Centre (MEOC) and Ontario's emergency stockpile.
• Maintain partnerships with internal and external stakeholders for the on-going development and implementation of health related emergency management initiatives.

How do I qualify?

Emergency Management and Health Sector Knowledge:

• You have knowledge of emergency management principles, the Ontario health care system, in particular health services and emergency readiness, and related best practices, standards, guidelines, legislative authorities in the areas of emergency management .
• You can provide advice in the development, implementation, distribution and evaluation of emergency management priorities, policies, programs and plans.

Research, Evaluation and Analytical Skills:

• You have proven knowledge of research, evaluation and analytical tools to support policy and program development.
• You can conduct research, monitoring, analysis and assessment of emergency management issues and trends.

Project Management and Leadership Skills:

• You can provide effective project planning and implementation.
• You have a good understanding of decision making processes in the public sector.
• You demonstrate leadership and can champion new initiatives.

Communication, Relationship Management and Presentation Skills:

• You can prepare and present complex research analyses, detailed emergency management standing operating procedures, presentations, and briefing papers.
• You can develop and deliver training materials and practical guides.
• You are computer proficient and able to access the Internet as a research tool and prepare material using software programs and/or applications.
