What can I expect to do in this role?

Work in a team environment under the supervision of aggregate program staff, the position will assist with the monitoring and auditing of aggregate resource extraction activity and administer requirements of the Aggregate Resources Act and regulations.

How do I qualify?

Mandatory
• Proof of eligibility to work in Canada;
• Proof of full-time enrolment in a recognized post-secondary college or university or graduation within the last five years; and
• Candidates are only eligible to participate in a maximum of two placements.

Knowledge and Skills
• Technical knowledge as well as the theory and practice of geological and earth science principles.

• Broad Understanding of aggregate resource management including relevant legislation, policies and procedures.

• Working knowledge of computer software packages including MS-Excel, MS Word, MS Access, ARC/GIS.

• Familiarity with land use issues.

• Knowledge of worker responsibility under the Occupational Health and Safety Act.

• Good communication and interpersonal skills.

• Valid Ontario drivers licence

Note: The successful candidate will begin at the base-level pay rate and will move up in the pay scale in accordance with the OPSEU collective agreement.
