What can I expect to do in this role?
Consider these five exciting opportunities with the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care for proven strategic policy leaders to help set the strategic directions for Ontario's health system. As a committed team member of the program policy and standards branch, working within the acute and emergency care unit, you will provide policy leadership and expertise to improve health status, health equity, and productivity at the system level. Draw on your skills, experience and directly relevant knowledge in the area of acute and emergency care services to frame, design and lead the development and implementation of innovative acute and emergency care policies, standards and practices that improve quality, access and system integration.
Four positions are permanent full-time; one is permanent part-time, working three days per week (21.75 hours).
How do I qualify?
Mandatory
demonstrated knowledge of the policy/legislative process; understanding of policy and research tools, common business strategy-planning methodologies, performance management methodologies and metrics, and program design and evaluation techniques; proven innovation and creativity; proven strategic/systems thinking and project management skills; understanding of the health-care system and sensitivities, needs, structures and complex relationships of health system stakeholder groups and affected populations; excellent relationship management and partnership-building skills; communication, presentation and computer skills.
