Are you a technical expert in the radio communications field? Have you ever thought working to support the operation and maintenance of telecommunication systems that are inclusive to the Government Mobile Communications (GMC) Public Safety Radio Network? Then please look further as this might be the role for you.

What can I expect to do in this role?

In the challenging role, you will:
• provide technical expertise and support for current and future radio infrastructure and special projects,
• conduct tests, inspections, coordinate, install, configure and maintain business applications
• source, provide and assist to control and oversee inventory levels
• attend site locations and areas to resolve issues
• design radio frequency templates to ensure frequency conflict is avoided
• assist with cost analysis and conduct feasibility studies.

How do I qualify?

Mandatory

G Class Drivers License

Technical Knowledge

• you have knowledge of telecommunications sub-system components (i.e. microwave, mobile, portable and base radios and repeaters, standby and backup power systems, radio system switches, dispatch computer, console and communications centre voice recording systems, and network design)
• you have proven knowledge of system design criteria and theoretical principles, security and recovery procedures and connectivity
• you have expert knowledge of software programs used in for the preparation of reports, spreadsheets and presentations

Skills and Abilities

• you have strong communication and interpersonal skills, to work with a range partners, and to prepare business cases and reports
• you have demonstrated knowledge and experience working with contracts and suppliers
• you have demonstrated ability to acquire and interpret government policies and procedures and related programs
• you have proven analytical, evaluation and problem solving skills, to make recommendations and assess and evaluate client needs
• you have project management skills
