If so – we are delighted to share with you a unique and important opportunity as the next ADM of the Anti-Racism Directorate with Cabinet Office.

In this executive role you will lead a team of highly-engaged specialists and professionals through an unprecedented opportunity - and challenge. This is a critical time of growth and transformation for the Directorate. The ADM will be expected to enable systemic change by leading the Directorate, implementing strategy, leveraging mandates and effectively collaborating with anti-racism community partners and other stakeholders.

You are a visionary leader who has demonstrated experience in driving enterprise-wide transformation in complex environments. You are conversant with systemic barriers in a social justice context and highly motivated to engage in a racial equity narrative. You demonstrate the leadership values of authenticity, inclusion, collaboration, courage, and integrity.

What can I expect to do in this role?

In this unique transformational role, reporting to the Associate Deputy Minister of Inclusion, Diversity and Anti-Racism, the Assistant Deputy Minister (ADM), Anti-Racism Directorate will provide leadership to address systemic racism in government and its institutions in order to create a more inclusive province.

The ADM, Anti-Racism Directorate is responsible for:

• Leading the work of the Anti-Racism Directorate to provide anti-racism leadership and expertise focused on systemic issues.

• Leading the development and promotion of racially equitable and fair practices, strategies and research.

• Engaging and collaborating within government and with anti-racism community partners

• Implementing an action plan which includes, but not limited to, deliverables such as: a province-wide racialized and Indigenous anti-racism strategy; establishing an anti-racism assessment framework, a province-wide anti-racism public education and awareness campaign.

• Providing leadership and direction to the senior management of the Anti-Racism Directorate to drive results and achieve success.

How do I qualify?

Transformational Leadership:

• You have deep experience defining, communicating and enabling a vision for change.
• You have proven ability to deliver on transformational change, in large and complex organizations, including developing strategies to transform organizational culture.
• You have project management skills and experience to effectively plan, implement and deliver results.

Executive Leadership:

• You are an experienced executive with superior management and strategic leadership abilities to lead and engage teams to achieve policy and programming goals.
• You promote and foster an inclusive and diverse team environment.
• You can create, influence and leverage change while enabling policy outcomes and program delivery.

Policy and Program Leadership:

• You have solid understanding of government decision-making and experience with public sector policy development.
• You are a seasoned strategic and analytical thinker and have directed the development and implementation of substantive policies, programs and standards.

Relationship Management and Political Acuity:

• You have experience dealing with diverse and influential stakeholders.
• You have excellent interpersonal skills and experience dealing positively with others, including in highly stressful situations.
• You have political acuity to anticipate and respond to politically sensitive situations.
• You can represent the public service on a variety of cross ministry committees and in public forums.
• You are an excellent communicator and have the ability to anticipate and respond to critical issues.
