MTO is seeking a senior leader for the Provincial Highways Management division. As Assistant Deputy Minister, you will lead the division in creating a safe, mobile provincial highway network that is economically, environmentally and socially sustainable to meet the Province's current and future transportation needs.

As an Assistant Deputy Minister, Provincial Highways Management division, you will be a proactive and innovative operations executive, focusing on operational policies and highway engineering standards, transportation user services and the regional delivery of programs for all modes.

What can I expect to do in this role?

Your impact

As Assistant Deputy Minister, Provincial Highways Management Division, you will be responsible for leading this division to:
• Oversee the delivery of user services and programs for all modes of provincial transportation
• Deliver innovative and long-term sustainability solutions for the province's multi-billion dollar transportation system
• Administer the provincial highway construction program and highway maintenance operations with a focus on highway safety
• Implement highway engineering standards and operational policies governing the design, construction, maintenance and operation of the highway network
• Build strong relationships with external stakeholders and industry partners to create business solutions that will meet the needs of the Province's current and future transportation mandates
• Provide end-user focused services for the transportation network including, but not limited to: Concession Agreements, 3rd Party Claims, Remote Airports, Marine Services, and Traveler Information
• Ensure the delivery of superior customer service and traveller information services to the public
• Drive and embed transformation initiatives within the division to deliver the Ministry's organizational requirements and meet the needs of the Province's expanding transportation sector

• You have executive experience leading and engaging people in a large field operations and geographically dispersed organization to achieve business goals.
• You have knowledge of government operations and are familiar with legislations, regulations and programs.
• You have experience in change management, innovating and promoting improved program delivery and delivery of exceptional services.

Stakeholder and Relationship Management

• You can build strong relationships with diverse and influential internal and external stakeholders.
• You have influence and negotiation skills to balance stakeholders' interests and build consensus.
