The Executive Director takes day-to-day direction from the Executive Chair of Tribunals Ontario and has an accountability relationship to the Assistant Deputy Attorney General of the Policy Division. The Executive Director oversees over 500 hundred OPS staff who work for a number of public-facing adjudicative tribunals that form part of Tribunals Ontario.
What impact will you have?
Your leadership and decisions you make will help support the resolution of disputes in areas such as human rights, landlord and tenant relations, land use planning, social assistance and automobile accident benefits. Your ability to provide the necessary strategic guidance and administrative support will assist OIC-appointed Executive and Associate Chairs and adjudicators resolve cases in a timely and cost-effective fashion.
What can I expect to do in this role?
The Executive Director, Tribunals Ontario will:
• Provide strategic leadership and oversight for financial, human resources/appointments, registrar and information technology issues impacting Tribunals Ontario, which consists of 19 tribunals
• Lead critical change management initiatives including large scale information technology initiatives
• Provide stability while leading transformation and culture change to ensure a “best practice” organization and model of service excellence
• Identify and lead strategic policies and operational frameworks that will provide mandates and direction for Tribunals Ontario priorities
• Manage and enhance the controllership management framework, risk–based internal controls, performance measures, quality assurance, and quality controls for business administration services
• Respecting the independence of the organization, lead with a common purpose to facilitate the transformation agenda for the tribunal cluster and the ministry/government as a whole
• Research and manage contentious issues in response to media issues, public concerns, human resource complaints and FOI issues/ implications

• You have a proven track record of leading complex change management initiatives and have experience providing effective stewardship for new IT-related projects
• You are experienced in financial management, budgeting, forecasting and multi-year business planning
