What can I expect to do in this role?
Assistant Deputy Minister, Health TransformationThe Health Transformation Division is responsible for leading and reporting on transformation initiatives from across the ministry. The division provides leadership on the establishment and oversight of Ontario Health; providing strategic planning, project and change management supports to the ministry; and oversees the modernization of the health sector supply chain.
• Leading the implementation of the ministry's transformation plan, which includes transferring relevant functions and accountability from the ministry to agencies and/or health care settings, while ensuring minimal disruption to patients and health care sector
• Responsible for direction and oversight of the transformation of the delivery of health care services in Ontario
• Build collaborative and effective working relationships with senior executives across the ministry, government and health sector to ensure that the proposed model achieves the governments mandate
• Ensure proposed transformation model supports and protects the delivery of frontline care
Assistant Deputy Minister, Mental Health and AddictionsThe Mental Health and Addictions Division provides policy, program and fiscal leadership and oversight for the community-based mental health and addictions (MHA) sector. Develops policy and provincial partnerships and leads the implementation of the Roadmap to Wellness, Ontario's plan to improve Ontario's MHA system to better meet the needs of Ontarians, across the lifespan.
• Provide strategic leadership and executive direction for the delivery of policy and program planning in the development and implementation of Ontario's Mental Health and Addictions Strategy, particularly relating to the mainstream treatment system and the Mental Health Act
• Provides policy, program and fiscal leadership and oversight for the community-based mental health and addictions (MHA) sector
• Designs a consistent and connected provincial service system for mental health and addictions
• Builds a quality assurance system to ensure that provincial policy direction is translated into high quality mental health and addictions service delivery across Ontario
• Works with system-level partners, including the Centre of Excellence for MHA at Ontario Health to support organization- and provider-level change management, implementation science, and continuous quality improvement
Assistant Deputy Minister, Home and Community Care and Executive Lead, Ontario Health TeamsAs the Assistant Deputy Minister, Home and Community Care and Executive Lead of Ontario Health Teams Division, you will have the opportunity to make an everlasting impact on the quality of health care services Ontarians receive. The division is responsible for the creation of Ontario Health Teams, a new model to integrate health care delivery and funding across the province and leads the modernization and transformation of home and community care to improve access, innovation, accountability and efficiency.
• Provide executive leadership for the strategic planning, priority setting and overall direction for the creation of Ontario Health Teams across the province
• Provide leadership for stakeholder engagement strategies that foster collaborative partnerships with internal and external health sector stakeholders (e.g. hospitals, primary care providers, long-term care providers)
• Ensure the provision of timely analysis and advice on integrated health care and Ontario Health Teams, reflecting the best available information and sensitivity to the policy context
• Provide executive leadership for the monitoring, analysis and assessment of a broad range of issues, trends and directions impacting the delivery of integrated health care
• Support the goals of the Ministry while also providing strategic advice and critical support to the Associate Deputy Minister, Health Services, Deputy Minister and Minister
• As a passionate and dedicated leader, you will be the single point of contact for health care providers who are on the journey to become an Ontario Health Team

• You have experience as a senior leader responsible for the delivery of complex policy and programs
• You are able to provide expertise and recommendations to the Associate Deputy Minister and Deputy Minister on a broad range of key health programmatic related issues, including recommendations for strategies and approaches for the resolution of contentious issues
• You lead change initiatives by developing, recommending, and implementing effective operational processes and creating positive and productive business operations.
• You have exceptional leaderships skills, based on a foundation of collaboration, inclusion, mentoring and service excellence
• You foster a culture which respects diversity, encourages all employees to work together to achieve results and contribute to a healthy, rewarding, and productive working environment
• You can maintain objectivity and strategic direction in a growing the portfolio
Change Management
• You have a proven track record of leading high-performing teams through periods of uncertainty and complex transformations
