The ministry is seeking a highly motivated individual to join MTO's procurement team. You will provide expert, strategic procurement advice to assist ministry clients in the successful delivery of procurement solutions that meet business needs and achieve value for money.

What can I expect to do in this role?

In this role you will:
- Proactively interact with ministry clients to strategize procurement requirements and provide procurement advice and guidance through the procurement process.
- Lead procurement planning processes including business case development to obtain required approvals.
- Liaise with Ministry of Transportation staff and Ministry of Government Services and other OPS offices
- In partnership with ministry clients, prepare procurement documents and ensure compliance with procurement policy and provide recommendations as subject matter expert
- Develop and deliver executive level presentations and conduct procurement training sessions.

NOTE: Some travel to Toronto will be required

How do I qualify?

Knowledge:

- You have in-depth knowledge of procurement practices, business decision-making processes, service delivery models and experience providing strategic advice on large scale and/or complex procurement initiatives.
- You have demonstrated experience in the interpretation and application of procurement principles and requirements outlined in procurement and financial directives, guidelines, legislation and regulations

Applied Skills:

- You have experience in the tendering process including development of a wide range of complex procurement solicitation documents.
- You have the ability to conduct research on procurement trends and business/industry developments in the private sector and assess impacts to ministry procurement initiatives.
- You have excellent consultative and interpersonal skills to build/maintain effective partnerships and working relationships with diverse internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
- You have excellent problem solving, analytical, research and organizational skills to provide information and make recommendations in a timely manner; providing on-going support in managing and resolving contract issues.
- You have excellent written and oral communication skills to prepare procurement business cases, correspondence, reports, senior management briefing materials, and deliver presentations.
