Are you looking for an exciting opportunity in one of Canada's most prolific and active mining areas? If so, consider this exceptional opportunity.

Playing a key role in the monitoring and stimulation of exploration, you will lead and deliver the mineral exploration and development program guiding components through the regulatory process.

What can I expect to do in this role?

You will:

• provide information, advice and assistance to industry, government agencies, aboriginal communities and the public regarding all phases of the mining sequence
• promote the development of new and existing mining ventures
• review exploration plans and permit applications as well as closure plans and closure plan amendments to ensure all requirements have been met
• prepare briefing materials, reports and responses on matters associated with mineral production, development and processing
• conduct technical research and assists in the evaluation of proposals to enhance mineral development services
• develop effective working relationships with industry, First Nations, other municipal, provincial and federal government partners and the public
• participate on committees and attend meetings with mine operators, consultants, industry and mining contractors

How do I qualify?

Technical expertise:

• You have proven knowledge and experience in a resource development field and knowledge and/or experience in mineral exploration and development.
• You have expert knowledge of the mining industry, mining sequence and mine-related issues.
• You have the ability to apply and interpret related legislation and regulatory processes such as the Mining Act and other relevant provincial and federal legislation and relevant government programs affecting mineral exploration and development.
• You are knowledgeable of aboriginal communities and issues related to the mineral industry in order to carry out effective consultation.

Communication, facilitation and negotiation skills:

• You have superior communication skills, tact and good judgement to exchange information, provide advice and recommendations to a broad range of internal and external clients with diverse technical and cultural backgrounds.
• You have well developed skills in negotiation, diplomacy, facilitation and consensus building to foster cooperative, effective, and sound relations between aboriginal communities, industry and stakeholders.

Other relevant skills:

• You have research, analytical and problem solving skills to review and evaluate information/proposals and organize, implement and monitor project deliverables.
• You are highly organized to coordinate and implement diverse projects.
• You are proficient in computer and related software such as word processing, graphics, spreadsheets and internet to collect, display, analyze and process mining-related and geographic information.
