Purpose of Position :

To perform psychological clinical services for CPRI, assist Program Manager in the development, coordination and evaluation of psychology programs at CPRI, lead research and education initiatives and provide group leadership and clinical supervision for CPRI psychology staff.

Duties / Responsibilities :

1. Provide direct service to clients by:
• Assessing behaviour/ability, counselling, recommending treatment, discharge planning, developing specific treatment programmes for individual clients and providing case management as required
• Preparing appropriate reports as required for the care and treatment of individual clients
• Providing specialized treatment programmes

2. Provide group leadership by:
• Lead research, education, quality improvement and program evaluation initiatives
• Supervise the professional duties of psychometrists, students and non-registered psychologists
• Providing information regarding psychometrists, students and non-registered psychologists to assist with the performance development process
• Acting as a member of committees as assigned
• Providing education and training in areas of specialization and in evidence based treatments
• Coordinating the interpretation of client behaviour and making recommendations
• Assisting in establishing, supervising and evaluating treatment programmes at CPRI
• Assisting in the development and supervision of an educational programme for CPRI

3. Other duties as assigned, including:
• Maintaining an adequate knowledge of the advancing field of psychology
• Performing other related duties as assigned.

Staffing and Licensing :

Registration as a Psychologist in Ontario.

Knowledge :

Demonstrated satisfactory experience as a psychologist in a mental health/developmental services or related setting. Ability to organize, coordinate and supervise psychological services. Ability to establish effective working relationships with clients, families, external agencies and internal staff. Work with a multidisciplinary team.

Skills :

Excellent communication skills. Demonstrated training and skills in assessments/interventions. Ability to provide leadership to other professionals. Experience in research. Training and experience in the analysis and modification of childrens behaviour. Excellent working knowledge of psychological treatment techniques.
