Purpose of Position :

To provide, coordinate and maintain technical services implementation of asset protection into the South Peel facilities. To maintain and update the CMMS database. To conduct research and evaluations into emerging technologies, equipment and maintenance methodologies. To provide ongoing support and advice to South Peel staff on maintenance and maintenance issues.

Duties / Responsibilities :

• Reports, plans and coordinates a variety of asset management projects encompassing maintenance issues, systems, processes
and procedures in order to seek increased operational and maintenance efficiencies and reductions in operating expenses.
• Participates in collecting equipment and inventory data, risk analysis data, and entering same into the MPC CMMS.
• List equipment by high, medium and low risk based on the risk analysis methodology
• Assigns procedures for each asset class and subclass (daily, weekly, monthly, etc.)
• Assists with the implementation of new technologies to achieve improved monitoring and control and asset protection
efficiencies
• Leads the assessment and implementation of new maintenance programs and procedures in South Peel including RCM,
TPM and other optimization initiatives identified.
• Participates in the establishment of business procedures to effectively operate the work/maintenance management system.
• Participates in the transfer of technical knowledge to client and develops documentation to continue processes and assists in
the development of training programs for the South Peel staff
• Provides technical guidance and resolves day-to-day technical issues.
• Communicates with vendors and clients to advise about the progress of the project and gain cooperation for implementation
schedules in order to meet project timeline objectives.
• Assists with evaluations and develop plans to enhance the CMMS program across the South Peel facilities.
• Recommend improvements to current South Peel policies on significant modifications to program and operational policies,
plus assessing and recommending improvements in the administration of proposed programs or operational policies, based
on own and staff research, experiences, and informed opinions.
• Establishes and monitors program performance targets. Leads the identification of program delivery improvements, and
implement changes.
• Provide training to South Peel staff and managers on all aspects of maintenance.
• Provide assistance in developing capital plans.
• Provide support in resolving maintenance issues.
• Maintain WMS database integrity.
• Modify and further enhance the WMS database.
• Provide data collection and setup of WMS program for new facilities as required.
• Draft and review maintenance procedures and frequencies.
• Offer technical maintenance assistance as required.
• Be available to assist in emergency responses.

Knowledge :

Knowledge of asset management principles and best practices. Position requires an advanced technical knowledge of the theories, principles, practices and certification related to the functional/plant areas of work in water or wastewater maintenance operations and administration to ensure optimum facility reliability. Position requires a good working knowledge of Agency,
regulatory and legislative acts, codes, policies, guidelines and procedures related to water/wastewater maintenance operations and health and safety. Position requires a working knowledge of policies, standards and methods, environmental impact issues, water quality assurance techniques to assure compliance and understanding of delivery of contractual obligations to the Region of Peel. Knowledge and interpretative understanding of environmental legislation (OWRA, EPA, EAA, EBR) in order to ensure that implementation plans arc carried out within the requirements of the legislation. The work requires extensive knowledge of project management principles, practices to recommend delivery strategies, operational standards and guidelines, and to plan and facilitate implementation. Knowledge of CMMS, WMS and PC software.

Skills :

Planning and organizational skills to lead projects. Excellent oral and written skills to liaise with vendors and clients and prepare reports. Presentation skills to develop and execute formal presentations. Skills in the evaluation of business results to improve business performance and make recommendations. Problem solving and analytical skills to provide technical guidance and resolve day-to-day technical issues.
