Job Specification

Purpose of Position :

To carry out a variety of duties associated with facility sanitation and general maintenance.

Duties / Responsibilities :

• Assisting with water and air filter cleaning and replacement.
• General park maintenance functions, grass cutting and trimming.
• Fall clean-up of garbage, leaves and debris.
• Assisting with the winterizing of the park including buildings and irrigation lines by shutting off the supply to individual buildings and blowing lines free
of water to prevent freezing.
• Assisting with Marina dock removal and storage.
• Snow ploughing/shovelling/salting of doorways and roadways.
• Must be willing to work weekends and statutory holidays if required.
• Reporting any problems, safety concerns to the Park Manager, Marina & Site Services.
• Assisting other park staff during vacation/sickness and other peak workload periods.
• Manager has the right to assign additional duties.

Staffing and Licensing :

Valid Ontario Drivers licence for operating OPC fleet vehicles, golf carts and gators.
Ability to obtain valid CPR and Emergency First Aid

Knowledge :

• Job requires knowledge of park programs, services and operating procedures.
• Job requires knowledge of the operation and maintenance of powered equipment such as lawnmowers, trimmers and small hand tools.
• Job requires knowledge of worker responsibilities as outlined in the Occupational Health and Safety Act, knowledge of any potential or actual danger to health or safety in the workplace to ensure compliance and reporting hazards.

Skills :

• Basic work skills and communication skills. Comfortable with operating machinery as listed above and general knowledge of safe working techniques.
• Job requires well-developed organizational skills to work with minimal supervision, as well as the ability to work independently, follow and carry out
instructions.
• The ability to carry out daily functions through park property and in inclement weather and on weekends and statutory holidays.

Freedom of Action :

• Job requires performing a variety of general maintenance work under minimal supervision.
• Job requires working in accordance with procedures established in the Ministry and OPC policies, procedures, guidelines, directives with established
park routines and practices.
• Completed work is reviewed for completeness and quality.
• On a daily basis, acts under the general guidance and direction of the Manager, Marina & Site Services.
• Job requires providing routine updates to immediate supervisor
