Marketing Coordinator :

Work Description: This position will support strategic social media, marketing, and communications in different program areas, and will require you to be fluent and up-to-date in social media marketing. Working closely with the Marketing team, you may have the opportunity to work on the following activities:

    • Manage the brand and visual identity.
    • Plan and manage marketing campaigns in all media (e.g. online, interactive, print, radio, and television), as required, for all advertising initiatives.
    • Manage the marketing elements for various channels, including the Service Ontario service channels: in-person, online, kiosk, and telephone.
    • Coordinate design and production of advertising, print collateral, signage, website, and digital applications and other media.
    • Develop and implement strategies that align with the latest trends in technology, social media, and consumer behaviour.

    In addition, you may have the opportunity to work on some or all of the following activities:
    • Assist in the recommendation, preparation, editing, and proofreading of various social media communications entries.
    • Liaise and/or consult with staff across the branch and Ministry, as required, to identify and/or clarify social media content, priorities, needs, goals, and issues, and to ensure that messaging goals are clearly understood and translated into suitable social media content.
    • Research social media sites and products as required.
    • Stay up-to-date on social media trends and technologies by regularly reviewing various available resources.
    • Participate in, and/or assist with, marketing-related meetings and project teams.
    • Plan, organize, coordinate, and manage daily assigned work.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements for Marketing Coordinator:

    Communication and Interpersonal Skills:
    • You apply your written communication skills to document findings, record data, and prepare a variety of documents (e.g. reports).
    • You apply your verbal communication skills to communicate and share your knowledge with staff.
    • You apply your initiative and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team.

    Technical Skills and Knowledge:
    • You apply your experience using Microsoft Office applications, such as Word (word processing) and Excel (spreadsheets), as well as web reporting tools and software, email and the internet to conduct online research and prepare a variety of documents using information gathered online.
    • You have a solid understanding of the roles of various communications channels and how social media relates.
    • You have knowledge of and experience with writing, editing, and proofreading various communication documents.

    Analytical and Organizational Skills:
    • You use the internet and other sources to gather and aggregate data, analyze and input data findings, and summarize information.
    • You input data accurately and generate reports, paying close attention to detail.

    Other Requirements:
    • You apply your planning and organizational skills to collect, organize, review, and verify information/data through review of files, reports, and other means.

Ontario Place Communications Dispatcher :

Work Description: As an Ontario Place Communications Dispatcher, you will be responsible for manning the Control Centre at Ontario Place, and you may have the opportunity to work on some or all of the following activities:

    • Answer all inbound calls for information and emergencies on the property.
    • Coordinate response calls to all on-site emergency situations, and dispatch staff from the Medical Response Team and Security as needed.
    • Create incident reports, maintain logs, and issue equipment to staff.
    • Note: You are required to maintain your composure under stress and to co-ordinate information delivery to Security and Loss Prevention Supervisor as needed.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements for Ontario Place Communications Dispatcher:

    Communication and Interpersonal Skills
    • You apply your excellent customer service skills and your verbal, written, and active listening communication skills to respond to phone, email, and in-person inquiries, and provide information to internal clients and/or the public.
    • You apply your administration and written communication skills to prepare and maintain a variety of logs and documents.

    Organizational Skills
    • You apply your administration and organizational skills to coordinate responses to emergency situations and dispatch team members effectively.
    • You work independently or as part of a team; you plan, organize and prioritize your work to meet competing deadlines.

    Other Requirements
    • You are at least 18 years of age
    • You are willing and able to work a rotating shift schedule 7 days/week, including weekends and statutory holidays.

Project and Communications Assistant :

Work Description: Supporting a team in project work and/or communications planning and delivery, you may have the opportunity to work on some or all of the following activities:

    • Prepare, edit, and proofread various communication/project documents. (e.g. presentations, marketing material, web content, news releases, communications, etc.).
    • Prepare and organize correspondence, perform data entry and word processing functions, and create a variety of documents.
    • Support a team in planning, organizing, and coordinating communication and/or project activities. (e.g. developing presentations and marketing material, and planning conferences, events, tours, etc.)
    • Conduct research and perform analysis. (i.e. communication reports, presentations, project plans, etc.)
    • Work with graphics, web publishing, photo library, and/or project management software.
    • Plan, organize, coordinate, and manage daily assigned work.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements for Project and Communications Assistant:

    Communication and Interpersonal Skills:
    • You apply your written communication skills to document findings, record data, and prepare a variety of documents (e.g. reports, presentations, meeting minutes, etc.).
    • You apply your customer service skills and your verbal, written, and active listening communication skills to respond to phone, email, and in-person inquiries, and provide information to internal clients and/or the public.
    • You apply your initiative and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team.

    Technical Skills and Knowledge:
    • You apply your experience using Microsoft Office applications, such as Word (word processing) and Excel (spreadsheets), as well as databases, email, and the internet to conduct research and prepare a variety of documents.
    • You have knowledge of and/or experience with writing, editing, and proofreading various communication documents.
    • You have knowledge of and/or experience with graphics and/or web publishing, and project management software.

Translator :

Note: These are French/English translator positions.

Work Description: In this role, you may have the opportunity to work on some or all of the following activities:

    • Translate draft and final versions of various documents (e.g. bills, legislation, regulations, etc.) from English into French.
    • Research the meaning and/or intent behind terms and phrases to ensure accuracy.
    • Ensure uniformity of style and language by accessing similar provisions in other statutes, bills, and regulations.
    • Participate in the development and updating of French legislative terminology for Ontario.
    • Plan, organize, coordinate, and manage daily assigned work.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements for Translator:

    Communication and Interpersonal Skills:
    • You apply your written communication skills to accurately translate legislative texts into French.
    • You apply your verbal communication skills to define issues.
    • You apply your initiative and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team.

    Technical Skills and Knowledge:
    • You have advanced level oral and written English and French language skills.
    • You apply your research skills, including accessing electronic terminology banks and style guides, consulting legal and linguistic experts, and reviewing similar legislation, to ensure consistency.
    • You apply your experience using Microsoft Office applications, such as Word (word processing), Excel (spreadsheets), Access (databases), as well as email and the internet to conduct research and prepare a variety of documents.
    • You are familiar with database management software, including linguistic databases.

    Analytical and Organizational Skills:
    • You apply your evaluative and analytical skills to evaluate information and translate original documents from English into French by identifying and resolving/addressing language problems.
    • You apply your planning and organizational skills to collect, organize, review, and verify information/data through review of files, reports and other means.
