Purpose of Position :
To provide mail delivery services to Osgoode Hall courthouse facility
Duties / Responsibilities :
Under the general supervision of the manager provides mail pick up and delivery service within the courtshouse complex.
-Receiving, sorting, opening and distributiong all incoming mail
-Adhering to government security policies as they relate to mail services
-Operating a package security scanner
-Preparing all outgoing mail, affixing appropriate postage and ensuring registered and courier mail is properly recorded
-Distributing telephone directories

Knowledge :
Job requires knowledge of computerized postage machine and package security scanner. Job requires knowledge of mail and courier distribution procedures.
Skills :
Job requires customer service skills plus oral communication skills to greet and deal with staff, managers and the judiciary in person and to provide routine information to the public. Job requires knowledge of government security procedures as they relate to mail services. Job requires knowledge of general office computer software, the ability to operate a postage machine and the ability to type. Job requires ability complete general filing and sorting. Job also requires tact in dealing with the public .
Freedom of Action :
Work is performed independently under the general supervision of the Deputy Registrar and the manager and within well-established ministry and general office procedures and processes. Decision-making is generally limited to routine, daily work functions regarding mail delivery servicesa Non-routine matters are referred to the manager.
