Purpose of Position :

Under the leadership of the Enforcement Branch Program Services Manager this position will assist with the delivery of information management and technology services, business administration and various project support to the Branch.

Duties / Responsibilities :

1. Assists and supports branch working groups/task teams when required. Provides project management, business related functions and research capabilities for task team members under the guidance and direction of an assigned project lead.
2. Undertake projects using sound methodology and business principles and practices utilizing a variety of proprietary and branch developed software (e.g. MS Word, Excel, Access, IFIS, and NICHE etc.)
3. Assists with the compilation of information required for preparation and delivery of program wide management reports such as monthly financial reports, fleet tracking and asset management plans
4. Supports Information management, technology and business training provincially by researching and preparing material, organizing training events and participating as a trainer.
5. Ensures all project related information records, materials, files and paper documents, analysis associated with any project are properly filed, labeled, stored, retained and secured in accordance with current Ministry polices, standards and record retention schedules.

Managers have the right to assign additional duties.

The incumbent shall, while in the workplace, conduct themselves in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and any workplace practices as directed by their immediate supervisor.

Knowledge :

Position requires demonstrated knowledge of Information management, business practices, research methods and techniques. Position requires advanced knowledge of microcomputer software including word-processing, spreadsheets, database, in order to assist with developing guidelines, options, reports, and presentations. Position requires knowledge of adult learning techniques and appropriate development and delivery of presentation material. Position requires a general understanding of MNR's mandate, Ministry/program strategic priorities and objectives. Knowledge of worker responsibilities as outlined in the OH&S Act.

Skills :

Position requires good oral and written communication skills in order to prepare reports and deliver presentations. Position requires organizational skills in order successfully manage multiple projects. Position requires problem solving skills to investigate, evaluate and recommend practical options and alternatives to resolve issues and set new direction or course of action. Position requires the ability to work with minimal day to day direction and supervision and to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Freedom of Action :

Work is performed under the direction of the Enforcement Branch Project Manager or other assigned project leads, in accordance with predetermined methods, procedures and templates. Job requires ongoing updates to supervisor and other team members through regular meetings, discussions and periodic reviews to deal with project issues. Project issues to be referred to manager for best method of resolution. Work is regularly checked and monitored for progress by manager to ensure project objectives and timelines are met.
