Client relationship management is a critical component of our branch's efforts to empower government and industry to strengthen systems for the protection and growth of the agri-food sector in Ontario.

This is your opportunity to play a key role in the design and delivery of business intelligence and analytics strategies for program areas across the Food Safety and Environment Division.

What can I expect to do in this role?

You will build collaborative relationships with clients and lead the development of information management strategies, systems and best practices in support of the programs, services and operations of the division by:

• fostering strong relationships with internal and external clients through consultations, solutions development and partnering in the development of business processes, standards and best practices
• serving as the primary point of contact regarding information management inquiries and issues
• designing, maintaining and monitoring data collection, analysis and reporting tools to ensure the integrity of data and its effective use in decision making processes
• leading various projects in support of the division's information management framework and functions
• leading the development of training and technical documents to support information management activities and processes

How do I qualify?

Technical knowledge and skills:

• You have experience supporting business decision making processes through the interpretation, synthesis and communication of quantitative data.
• You have knowledge of business intelligence tools and languages (e.g. Python, R, Tableau, SQL, Cognos, Google Analytics, Microsoft Power BI, or Excel PowerPivot)
• You have knowledge of data modeling concepts, best practices and their application in solution development.
• You have knowledge of information management theories, tools and technologies.

Communication skills:

• You have oral and written communication skills to prepare and present various materials to senior management, program staff and clients.
• You have consultation skills to lead discussions regarding client issues, data needs/requirements, proposed system changes and the development of policies and best practices.

Analytical and problem solving skills:

• You have analytical and problem solving skills to proactively identify client issues and business needs and recommend information solutions.

Relationship management skills:

• You have client relationship management skills to liaise and negotiate with business partners and system users.
• You have the ability to foster effective partnerships and integrated networks with internal and external stakeholders.

Project management skills:

• You have knowledge of project management tools, processes, standards and best practices.
• You have project planning and organizational skills to lead concurrent projects and support effective change management.
