What can I expect to do in this role?

• Manage and coordinate district support for the preparation of resource management plans
• Lead the planning and implementation of monitoring and field inventory activities
• Provide expertise in the development and maintenance of regional and district land use plans and policies
• Build and maintain relationships/partnerships with internal and external clients

Leadership skills:

• You have demonstrated leadership skills to build effective teams by valuing diverse input and experiences to deliver results for the District's resource management program.
• You can lead and nurture working relationships with internal staff and external communities with varying views and opinions.
• You can apply policies and guidelines related to human resources to effectively manage staff.

Technical knowledge and skills:

• You have demonstrated work experience and knowledge of the theories, practices and principles of resource and ecosystem planning and management.
• You can interpret and apply related acts and regulations, policies and procedures and agreements that govern resource management.
• You have good knowledge of current and evolving science tools and approaches to support resource management needs.
• You can apply knowledge of ministry objectives, programs and priorities to prepare program/work plans and to ensure compliance, inspection and monitoring meets are met.

Communication and Interpersonal skills:

• You have demonstrated collaboration skills to develop linkages with stakeholders for various resource management planning initiatives.
• You proven interpersonal skills and a high degree of political acuity to educate, communicate and promote ministry programs in diverse communities.

• You have proven communication skills to provide expert advice, prepare reports, briefing/background notes and responses to various correspondence.

Analytical and problem solving skills:
