Are you a bilingual policy professional with leadership experience and are ready to take your career to the next level? If so, then consider this opportunity to support the development and implementation of Indigenous education policies and programs within Ontario's French-language education sector!

What can I expect to do in this role?

• lead program development and directives to school boards on a range of initiatives relating to Indigenous education, student achievement, curriculum revision and implementation and multi-media resource development
• plan, coordinate and lead activities related to strategic policy development, multi-year planning, legislation and regulations, and program implementation
• design and implement strategies, anticipate issues and develop plans for changes relating to policy and program implementation across the province
• collaborate with stakeholders and senior management to discuss issues and provide advice
• provide project and technical leadership, guidance and coordination to professional and administrative staff in the development and implementation of initiatives
• identify and analyze current and emerging issues in French-language education and formulate recommendations, strategies and policy options for senior management

How do I qualify?

Mandatory requirement:

• You are proficient in English and oral and written French at the superior level.

Policy and program development expertise:

• You have knowledge of program and policy development theories, principles and practices to research, analyze and formulate policy, analyze information and anticipate and evaluate impacts.
• You have strategic planning skills to anticipate and absorb complex, large-scale issues, and to recognize the interdependencies of policy implementation.

Education sector and technical knowledge:

• You have knowledge of pedagogy and elementary/secondary school systems, educational theories and practices and student achievement to work with school boards and educators across Ontario.
• You have knowledge of the French-language education sector, education and social trends to provide policy advice.

Stakeholder management and communication skills:

• You can provide strategic advisory services to stakeholders, present policy proposals and recommendations and build consensus to resolve policy and program issues.
• You can gain support for ministry policy and program initiatives from other ministries and various stakeholder groups.
• You can prepare effective issue notes, reports, policy proposals and draft legislation for senior management.

Analytical and problem-solving skills:

• You can research, investigate and assess relevance of information, identify and prioritize issues and their political implications and develop recommendations.
