Then bring your project and client management skills to lead the regional delivery of the Ministry of the Attorney General's Business Continuity and Emergency Management Program.

What can I expect to do in this role?

In this role, you will:
• support and lead the regional development and implementation of emergency response, business continuity and labour disruption contingency programs and planning
• implement the delivery of business impact analysis, hazard identification and threat/risk assessments
• provide training for incident management, business continuity awareness, emergency management, safety and security procedures and pandemic awareness
• foster effective working relationships and maintain linkages and support the Ministry's response and recovery efforts during an emergency

How do I qualify?

Mandatory:

• you must possess a valid class G driver's licence or equivalent as recognized by the Province of Ontario as frequent travel will be required

Technical Knowledge:

• you have an understanding of risk assessment and management, business continuity and emergency management planning, safety and security procedures, as well as incident management and response concepts
• you are familiar with human resources and employee relations principles
• you can apply sound working knowledge of computer applications such as project management software, databases, spreadsheets and other office software products

Communication and Interpersonal Skills:

• you have demonstrated consultation, issue management, negotiation, facilitation, networking and relationship building skills
• you have demonstrated oral and written communication skills to prepare and present reports, papers and briefing materials
• you have demonstrated ability to facilitate the work of small groups and to develop and deliver presentations

Judgement and Analytical Skills:

• you have demonstrated analytical, evaluation and problem solving skills
• you have the ability to interpret and apply related legislation (e.g. Emergency Management and Civil Protection Act and its Regulations, Fire Code, Occupational Health and Safety Act)
• you have the ability to manage projects and work in an independent and self-directed manner and as a member of a team under pressure

  • Please note that this position is under review as part of the Management Job Evaluation Plan (MJEP) Project. MJEP is a new job evaluation system for manager and non-bargaining specialist positions in the Ontario Public Service.

    Implementation of the new system may impact the classification and salary range for this position. Employees will be notified of any impact prior to implementation.
