Bring your skills in systems analyst, system design, project planning and test planning to the Government Services Integration Cluster, where you will lead project teams in the software quality assurance testing for current and future projects!

What can I expect to do in this role?

As a Quality Assurance Test Lead, you will:

• develop test strategies for application portfolios
• coordinate, oversee and execute the completion of test strategies and test plans
• identify areas for improving the effectiveness of previous tests and assess new system requirements
• provide quality control advice and guidance to project team members
• develop and participate in new system designs and enhancements
• develop and implement automation strategies by leveraging existing cluster tools
• perform IT application tests for java based portal framework and web applications (e.g. system hardware integration, user acceptance, Accessibility Ontario Disability Act (AODA), load balance)
• execute and record results of test cases and scripts
• prepare design test cases, writing test scripts, test reports and manage the tests for automation

How do I qualify?

Technical Knowledge and Experience:


You have:
• experience developing, testing and implementing web and portal based applications
• an understanding of technology (software and hardware) platforms (i.e. operating systems, database technologies, application development languages, client desktops, mobile, middleware, Web Services, Service Oriented Architecture, networks, firewalls, telecommunications protocols)
• knowledge of current development and testing tools and languages within the different frameworks and platforms (e.g. J2EE, .NET, Domino, IMS, Oracle)
• knowledge of database design and data dictionaries

Quality Assurance Testing Skills:


You have:
• knowledge of current and emerging trends in IT quality assurance
• experience monitoring and enforcing application development and quality control standards
• utilizing test management and defect management defect management tools (e.g. HP Enterprise Suite: ALM, UFT, Mobility Centre)
• knowledge of quality assurance methodologies, object-oriented analysis and design techniques
• experience designing, developing and implementing n-tier web-based applications
• knowledge of industry best practices and testing automation tools (e.g. HP Load Runner, Rational Functional tester)
• knowledge of software design and development methods
• experience acquiring general technical and functional use information of applications being tested

Analytical and Problem Solving Skills:


You have:
• analytical skills to ensure compliance with quality control guidelines, assess quality control findings and make decisions on the quality acceptability
• the ability to review and analyze business requirements for system changes and updates

Communication and Negotiation Skills


You have:
• customer service and consensus building skills to determine client expectations and ensure they meet organizational goals
• the ability to effectively liaise and facilitate communication with numerous internal and external stakeholders
• the ability to work effectively in a team and act as a team leader

Project Management:


You have:
• experience developing, monitoring and managing project budgets
• knowledge of financial management, budgeting, procedures and processes
