PLEASE NOTE: There are currently 8 temporary positions available to be filled. In addition, an eligibility list will be created to fill future upcoming Permanent or Temporary (various duration) Flexible Part-Time and Irregular On-Call opportunities within the next twelve months for the following positions.

• Flexible Part Time 1500 Annual Hours Category: 4 temporary positions currently available (Various duration)
• Flexible Part Time 1000 Annual Hours Category: 1 temporary position currently available (up to 6 months)
• Irregular On-Call: 3 temporary positions currently available (Various duration)

Consider this challenging opportunity in the Superior or Ontario Court of Justice as a Flexible Part-Time 1500, 1000 Annual Hours Category or Irregular On-Call Court Clerk and Registrar, where you will perform clerical work supporting the operation of criminal, family, civil and other courts.

What can I expect to do in this role?

You will complete pre-court, in-court, and post-court work, including preparing the courtroom, administering oaths, recording endorsements and exhibits, and ensuring that courtroom protocol is followed at all times.

How do I qualify?

Organizational skills to prepare and maintain the courtroom, files and exhibits, and to prioritize and plan work effectively; flexibility to accommodate constant shifts in focus and changing priorities and work under pressure; communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with tact and diplomacy with judiciary, counsel and other stakeholders; ability to speak publicly in a courtroom setting; knowledge of the functions and rules of the Superior or Ontario Court or Justice, relevant legislation and legal terminology; attention to detail to verify and endorse court documents; proficiency with computer applications (word processing, presentations, spreadsheets, databases, e-mail, Internet and management information systems); technical knowledge to use audio and video equipment.

  • The successful candidate will be required to undergo a satisfactory criminal reference check prior to the commencement of employment.
  • This competition will be used to create an eligibility list to fill upcoming Permanent or Temporary Flexible Part-Time (1500 and 1000 hours annual category) and Irregular On-Call opportunities within the next twelve months.
