With your traffic engineering knowledge, why not join our multi-disciplinary team and contribute to the safety and efficiency of Ontario's provincial highway system?

What can I expect to do in this role?

In this entry-level position with opportunities for growth, you will:

• provide traffic engineering expertise to ensure safe operations of Ontario's highways
• analyze and report on traffic operations, geometric road designs, traffic characteristics, traffic signal design and operations and traffic regulations
• review and provide recommendations for specific projects in areas such as pre-contract engineering/construction, traffic operations/analysis, traffic signals, planning and data collection/management
• work with internal and external partners to conduct traffic operation studies, investigations, projects, data collection and analysis
• provide technical input to resolve safety and operational issues on the highway/road networks

How do I qualify?

Mandatory requirements:
• you must have a minimum of a valid Class G driver's licence or equivalent as recognized by the Province of Ontario and acceptable driving record.
• You are able to conduct on-site investigations/inspections.

• You have knowledge of traffic engineering theory, practices and principles.
• You have general knowledge of highway design, construction and maintenance procedures.
• You have general knowledge of and the ability to apply the Highway Traffic Act and other provincial highway acts and legislation.

Applied skills:
• You have excellent problem-solving, analytical and judgement skills.
• You have organizational, project management and decision-making skills.
• You have strong presentation, interpersonal and communication skills.
• You are proficient with computer applications (word processing, spreadsheet and database) and with traffic engineering software.
