Bring your strong policy development, research and analytical skills to the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing, to provide advanced policy analysis, research and business planning in support of strategic housing policy initiatives and legislative regulatory development.

What can I expect to do in this role?

Working as part of the Housing Policy Branch team, you will:

• lead and/or participate in developing policy and legislation in support of the government's housing initiatives
• undertake highly technical research and evaluation studies
• liaise with ministry and external stakeholders to consult, evaluate and respond to issues

How do I qualify?

Technical Knowledge and Skills
• you have demonstrated policy development and analysis skills
• you have knowledge of the government decision-making process to monitor, evaluate and interpret policy and program related issues
• you have the ability to provide input to policy and program development and implementation
• you have good knowledge of key government commitments related to emerging housing issues
• you have good judgment and tact to recommend strategic directions and approaches to issue resolution, research, develop and formulate policy options and analyses

Research, Analytical, and Project Management Skills
• you can evaluate problems, identify, research and analyze options, provide recommendations, and oversee multiple projects
• you have the ability to evaluate and monitor the financial and economic analysis and assessment of a broad range of issues

Written/Oral Communication, Stakeholder Consultation and Presentation Skills
• you can prepare complex policy proposals, briefing notes, correspondence and reports, and business cases
• you have the ability to present program and policy related information and recommendations to senior management and stakeholders
• you have the ability to work collaboratively and develop productive relationships with inter-ministerial partners/stakeholders (example: Canadian Mortgage and Housing Corporation, service managers/District Social Services Administration Boards (DSSABs), and municipalities, various levels of government, housing providers and advocacy groups) on program and policy development issues

    As a result of the recently agreed to AMAPCEO collective agreement, a new job evaluation system will be implemented on October 1, 2013. In the new job evaluation system, the classification level of this position is Level 6 with a salary range of $69,680.00 - $99,600.00
